Issa Rae Joins Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse Sequel Cast

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Issa Rae has been cast in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel. According to the reports she is set to voice Jessica Drew, who is also known as Spider-Woman. In the comics, Jessica Drew made her debut appearance in Marvel Spotlight #32, which was released in February 1977. Throughout the course of the various comic incarnations, the character worked for Hydra, S.H.I.E.L.D. and also the Avengers. Marvel Entertainment has announced the title for the third MCU Spider-Man film. The third film will be titled, “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” The first MCU Spider-Man film titled, “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” premiered in theaters on July 7, 2017. The film’s sequel, “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” made its debut in theaters two years later in 2019. “Spider-Man: No Way Home” will premiere in theaters on December 17, 2021. Various news outlets have reported that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will remain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For those who are not aware, it was reported that Disney and Sony were not able to make a deal to keep Marvel Studios’ involvement on the character in future films.
