IGN has reported that Dark Horse will be releasing a four issue limited comic series that will serve as a prequel to Masters of the Universe: Revelation. For those who are not aware, Masters of the Universe: Revelation is one of the two confirmed animated series that is being produced for Netflix. This series will follow up the events of the original He-Man and the Masters of Universe animated series. The series will be written by Kevin Smith, Rob David, and Time Sheridan. Mindy Lee will work on the illustrations. Stjepan Šejić, Mike Mignola, Bill Sienkiewicz, Walt Simonson and Laura Martin will work on the various cover arts.

…After saving his father King Randor from an attack by the monstrous Orlax, He-Man realizes his Sword of Power has a mysterious connection to the beast. Dark Horse’s press release also teases Teela will “take the reins of a powerful legacy,” presumably referring to her mother the Sorceress.
The first issue of the Masters of the Universe: Revelation prequel miniseries will be released on July 7 with later issues being released monthly through October 2021.
