What do you get when you throw an extroverted lion man and a introverted man in to a situation where they need to save their friends? Weird understandings…
Yamato is still shaken after last episode’s Mom slaying, with Misao’s attempt to cheer him up not impressing Leo. Misao later find a not at all Suspicious Free Instant Camera giveaway that claim to make people happy. Like an idiot he takes it back to the house, snapping pics of Yamato, Tusk, Sela and Amu, who all then get trapped in the photos.
In a bit of a curve, Bunglay actually turn’s down the offer to join the Dethgaliens, since he can’t see himself following anyone’s orders. Kubar attacks Bunglay after, who knows something about him after a quick mind read during the last episode. This ends anti-climatically.
To no one’s surprise, the MOTW is behind the photo trappings. With Misao in a funk (AGAIN) Leo tries and fails to take on the monster, forcing a retreat. This brings the extrovert Leo into conflict with the introvert Misao, the former urging the latter to be more assertive. This causes him to blast Leo on how he is too aggressive. This causes them to reach a sort of understanding; I guess?
They combo attack the MoTw, working pretty well together and free the rest of the team. Standard bad guy goes boom and wrap up.
This episode was just OK. The main plot had a Bog Standard “Quite guy needs to be more outgoing, whereas the Loud Guy needs to be less Hot headed” moral, alongside a redundantly used Camera Monster gimmick which in total has been used a few too many times. Luckily the Bunglay/Kubar subplot got little screen time for me to actual care about the episode.
