From days of long ago, from uncharted regions of the universe, comes a legend, the legend of Voltron, Defender of the Universe! This iconic robot is the titular mecha of the hit 80’s cartoon which spanned a variety of sequels and spin-offs. The original series itself is an adaptation of Toei Animation’s two anime series, Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV; the second Voltron is regarded as Vehicle Force, but in Japan it is Dairugger XV.
Now, thankfully since Toei and Bandai are in a wonderful working relationship it led to Voltron joining the Tamashii Nations/ Bandai Spirits Soul of Chogokin line. For those unaware, Soul of Chogokin is a highly detailed, articulated, and complex collector’s items that attempts to recreate mecha from popular programs as they are seen on screen. In this case, Soul of Chogokin GX-88 Vehicle Force Voltron/ Armored Fleet Dairugger XV recreates all fifteen vehicles splendidly between the combination of the three super vehicles, and the main mecha. In addition, the release features a variety of accessories seen within the series! So, this review will be an in-depth look at this impressive and expensive item, which somehow has a run-time in under an hour!
