Paramount Pictures has recently updated their official Youtube channel with the premiere trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 that was first revealed during the Game Awards 2021. For those who are not aware, the film is a sequel to the first live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which was released in 2020. The trailer features a look at Dr Robotnik (Jim Carrey) in his iconic outfit and the return of Sonic the Hedgehog (Ben Schwartz). The trailer also features several returning human cast members such as Thomas “Tom” Michael Wachowski (James Marsden) and more. Additionally, the trailer features a look at Miles “Tails” Prower (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) who debuted during the post credits scene of the first film as well as a first look at Knuckles (Edris Elba). Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will premiere on April 8, 2022.
I really enjoyed the first film so I was excited when a sequel was announced. Additionally, I am really happy that Colleen O’Shaughnessey would be reprising her role as Tails especially since there were rumors she would not return to reprise her role. Knuckles was also amazing to see and it was awesome to finally see Robotnik in his iconic gear. No much else to say at this point except I am quite excited to see the film.
