For those who are unaware Rave Master is a manga series created by Hiro Mashima who also worked on the Fairy Tail manga.  The Rave Master manga series was published in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine from July 1999 and ran until July 2005.  The series was also released as a 35 tankobon volumes by Kodansha.  The series was also released stateside by Tokyopop.

The manga series also was adapted into a 51 episode anime series produced by Studio Deen.  The series premiere on TBS on October 13, 2001 and ran until September 28 2002.  Tokyopop also licensed the anime series in North America, which premiered on the Toonami block on June 5, 2004 and ran until July 31, 2005.  The series was later syndicated on Syfy in 2009.

Kodansha also provided a synopsis for the series.

Sometimes Haru feels like he doesn’t have a purpose. He feels like he’ll never leave the island he lives on, but when fate comes knocking he answers the cry! With the evil called Dark Bring using the Demon Card power to take over the world, only one thing can stop it: the four missing rave stones. And now, Haru will find them wherever they lie! With the dark side looming, a boy called Haru may be the world’s single hope of revitalizing Rave and escaping the clutches of evil.

Seeing as the series has been out of print for some time it is great to see that the series will be receiving a reprint albeit via digital platforms.
