That is correct, Metroid has an all-new officially licensed Metal album! Guitarist, Ro Panuganti, is teaming up with Materia Collective to bring this album to fans. The album is titled “The Dark Hunter,” compiling various classic tracks from Metroid, Super Metroid and Metroid Prime. “The Dark Hunter” album is a heavy prog metal twist on the classic soundtracks from the Samus Aran’s storied history on the various different Nintendo platforms.
Panuganti, the man behind this album said that a lot of influences from 90’s performers like Pantera and Alice In Chains. Below is the official preview of “The Dark Hunter” from Panuganti’s personal YouTube channel:
The album is now available on Bandcamp, Spotify, and iTunes. In addition, Panuganti released a video onto his channel for his cover of “Ridley” from Super Metroid. This cover of “Ridley” is also featured on “The Dark Hunter” album.
