Michael Rooker in Talks to Join ‘The Suicide Squad as King Shark

The Wrap has recently reported that Michael Rooker is in talks in joining The Suicide Squad as Nanaue aka King Shark. Michael will be joining the previously announced cast members, which includes Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man)Idris Elba, Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and potentially John Cena. 

In the comics Nanaue was created by Karl Kesel and made a cameo appearance in Superboy vol. 3 Issue #0, which was released in October 1994. The character wouldn’t make his full appearance until his return in Superboy vol. 3 Issue #9, which was released in Nov. 1994. Nanaue is the son of Chodrakha, the God of all Sharks. Later in the comics he became a member of several teams including the Secret Six, Society of Super-Villains,  and the Suicide Squad.

With the announcement of a potential casting candidate for King Shark, currently it is unknown who will be portraying the final member of the main team, Peacemaker. No other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates.
