Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! & Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Trailer Streamed

The official Pokémon Youtube channel has updated with the reveal trailer for the next game(s) in the series. The latest games in the Pokémon franchise will be known as Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

Looking at the trailer it seems the game will be based in Kanto, so longtime Pokémon will most likely be familiar with the locale outside potential changes. One major feature that seems to have a potential return is the ability to see their Pokémon walk alongside them, which was a feature prominently seen in Pokémon Yellow (Pikachu specifically), and Pokémon Fire Red Pokémon Leaf Green on the Gameboy Advance.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will include several new features that have not been seen in the game franchise at this point.

The game will feature the ability to connect with the Pokémon Go app for smartphone devices in order to obtain Pokémon caught within the app, however to what extent has not been fully revealed at this time. Alongside the game Nintendo will be releasing a Pokéball Plus device, which is similar to the Pokémon Plus wrist band device. The trailer shows that trainers will be able to transfer what looks to be a single Pokémon to the device and will allow players to play along with them outside of the game.

Another new feature in the game is the first time players will be able to simultaneously play alongside a friend by using single joycons. Outside of controls it is currently unknown to how this will actually be implemented in this game, although it is quite a surprise to see this feature added. Wild encounters will work similarly to Pokémon Go in the ways players can actually capture the various Pokémon.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are set to release for the Nintendo Switch on November 16.

Personally I am quite excited for these games especially with all the new features that are being implemented in this game. I thought that Pokémon Go was kind of a bust, however it is crazy to see how it actually is going be an “important” feature in the upcoming games. Hopefully the games will also feature a great amount of content especially post game.
