The official twitter page for the Sword Art Online: Alternative Gun Gale anime has updated with the announcement that the series will premiere in April. For those who are unaware the latest anime series adaptation is based on the light novel series of the same name written by Keiichi Sigsawa and was published by Kadokawa in 2014.

The cast for the series includes:
- Tomori Kusunoki: Llenn
- Yoko Hikasa: Pitohui
- Kazuyuki Okitsu: M
- Chinatsu Akasaki: Fukaziroh
The series will feature the main character Karen Kohiruimaki who is a 6 foot tall college student with insecurities about her height. She also has a hard time dealing with people in real life. As she enters the world of Gun Gale Online she soon meets a girl named Pitohui. As they become friends she soon gets pressured into participating in a new version of the Battle Royale that was featured in the Bullets of Bullets tournament called the “Squad Jam.”
