Cast Members Announced For Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed some of the cast members for Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  For those who are unaware, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the next 2D animated incarnation of the TMNT franchise that will premiere on Nickelodeon in 2018.   The series will be directed by TMNT veteran Rob Paulsen and the series will be co-executive produced by Andy Suirano.  Ant Ward will be working as the supervising producer for the project.

The confirmed cast members include:

  • Kat Graham: April O’Neil
  • Josh Brener: Donatello
  • Omar Miller: Raphael
  • Ben Schwartz: Leonardo
  • Brandon Mychal Smith: Michelangelo 
  • Eric Bauza: Splinter

The series is set to contain 26 episodes for it’s first season and will take the turtles as they fight against new villains and encounter new allies.   They will also find a brand new mystical world underneath the streets of the New York City.

Senior vice president of production, development & animation at Nickelodeon,  Chris Viscardi, had this to say about the project.

“This incredible roster of voice actors provides a fresh take on these globally recognized characters, and they are going to bring this version of the Turtles to life in a whole new way,” said Chris Viscardi, senior vp production and development, animation, at Nickelodeon. “We have reimagined the series to be filled with humor, loads of action and a dynamic look, and it’s packed with all-new heroes, villains and cityscapes for the Turtles to explore.”

Omar Miller also had some words to say about the project.

Added Miller: “I used to sing the TMNT theme song daily on the bus on my way to elementary school and Raphael was my favorite Turtle. To get to voice this fictional character who had such a giant positive impact on my childhood is an honor. And to boot, I’m being directed by the man who voiced Raphael in my childhood.”
