Crunchyroll Simulcasts Ultraman Geed

Earlier today, Tsuburaya Productions confirmed that Ultraman Geed would be coming soon to Crunchyroll. This reveal came via the trailer for Episode 1 on their YouTube Channel, which was released last week. However, one will only notice this by reading the updated video description. Yet, Crunchyroll did not immediately follow up with confirmation of a simulcast for the series, until hours later. The simulcast will begin tonight at 9:30 pm EST (6:30 PST), with new episodes releasing at the same time every Friday. Whereas, in Japan the series airs Saturday mornings on TV Tokyo at 9:00 am.

Ultraman Geed is the successor to Ultraman Orb, and is the 29th entry to the franchise. The series stars Ultra series alumni, Tatsuomi Hamada as Riku Asakura/ Ultraman Geed, the son of Ultraman Belial. Tatsuomi Hamada previously starred in Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial, as Nao the younger brother of Run, who was the host of Ultraman Zero. The series will see the return of Ultraman Zero who will still be voiced by Mamoru Miyano, but will take on a new host, Reito Igaguri. Reito is portrayed by Yuta Ozawa a member of Gekidan EXILE; the group also features Kamen Rider Ex-Aid’s Hayato Onozuka (Kiriya/ Kamen Rider Lazer). In addition, the cast features Chihiro Yamamoto as one of its leading ladies; Chihiro has appeared in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, and most recently, Kamen Rider Heisei Generations. The series is set to consist of 25 episodes, and is directed by Koichi Sakamoto.
