Ex-Deadpool Director Tim Miller Working On Sony's Sonic The Hedgehog Film

The Hollywood Reporter has recently reported that Tim Miller is now working as the executive producer for Sony’s Sonic the Hedgehog film.    Tim Miller recently left as the director of Deadpool 2 and is now working on the CG/ live action family oriented film adaptation of the long running game franchise by Sega.   Tim Miller will be working with his longtime collaborator at Blur StudiosJeff Fowler.  

The full production cast consists of:

  • Neal H. Moritz, Takeshi Ito, Mie Onishi – Producers
  • Dmitiri Johnson, Dan Jevons – Co-producers

  • Patrick Case, Josh Miller – Script writers
  • Sony Pictures, Marza Animation Planet – Production studios

Sonic the Hedgehog is a game franchise that launched on the Sega Genesis in 1991. The series features the titular character Sonic along with his friends Tails and countless others throughout the history of the franchise.  The game featured platforming elements and many collectibles scattered throughout several stages and worlds.

Miller had this comment to say about his collaboration with Jeff Fowler on the project.
