This is some news I never thought I would read and I have to say I’m so happy this is happening. Thanks to Viz Media, we’ve learned that Kohei Horikoshi, creator of My Hero Academia will be making his first ever North American appearance at San-Diego Comic-Con 2018. To quote a bit from the Viz Media press release.
“Kohei Horikoshi is scheduled to participate in a variety of events during the convention including the official MY HERO ACADEMIA panel discussion. The panel will feature several notable voice actors including Christopher R. Sabat, voice of All Might, and Justin Briner, voice of Deku, from the anime adaptation of the popular series. The creator will also be a part of VIZ Media’s WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP panel. A pair of autograph sessions are also scheduled to take place during the show. Event times and additional information will be announced soon.”
I have to say that I’m so happy that the creator is coming to North America. I’m really hoping he gets the chance to see the characters he’s created come to life via cosplayers but also see how many people enjoy the work he’s created. As someone who has fallen for this series and constantly praises it. I wish I could have the chance to meet him. Hopefully, I would want to see Manga creators at conventions like SDCC or even Anime Expo but given how some of these series are still ongoing. I understand as to why they couldn’t venture out into the world of conventions. Anyway, that’s all I have for now. So until next time, I’m XBen3000 and I’m out!
