Over the last few weeks the official Otakon website updated with new guests that will be attending the convention. Many of the newly announced guests include some of the staff that work on productions by Studio Trigger as well as the team behind Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans.
The new guests include:
- Naoko Tsutsumi: Studio Trigger Producer (Gurren Lagann, Little Witch Academia, Kill la Kill)
- Yoh Yoshinari: Studio Trigger Animation and Director (Neon Genesis Evangelion animator, Gurren Lagann mechanical design, Little Witch Academia Director)
- Masahiko Otsuka: Studio Trigger President (FLCL, When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace)
- Tatsuyuki Nagai: Director (Toradora!, anohana, The Anthem of the Heart, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans)
- Kanetake Ebikawa: Mechanical Designer (Full Metal Panic!, EUREKA SEVEN AO, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans)
- Hirokatsu Kihara: Writer/Producer at Studio Ghibli (Laputa: Castle in the Sky, My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service)
- Nobuo Uematsu: Composer (“Dear Friends: music from FINAL FANTASY,”)
- Arnie Roth: Music Director/Conductor (“Dear Friends: music from FINAL FANTASY,”)

Otakon 2018 will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. on August 10-12.
