Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass Update Video Streamed

The Pokémon Company has updated their official Youtube channel with an expansion pass update for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. The latest video features a reveal of some new content that will be apart of The Crown Tundra expansion pass.

For those who are not aware, The Crown Tundra is the second DLC expansion pass for the game following The Isle of Armor. The trailer reveals several returning Pokémon species such as Metagross and Nidoking just to name a few. The trailer also revealed the first look at Galarian Slowking, who will be a Poison/ Psychic type. Additionally, it was confirmed that all the Legendaries will be making a return to the game via the Dynamax Adventure. Next, it has been revealed that players will be able to participate in the Galarian Star Tournament where they will team up with a Gym Leader or several of the main trainers that they encountered throughout the course of the game.  The Pokémon Company also revealed that a special physical bundle of the games including the Expansion Pass will be available on November 6. 

Continuing on, The Pokémon Company has revealed that Ash Hat Pikachu will be making a return. For those who haven’t been following the franchise up to this point, the last time the various Ash Hat Pikachu was available as a promotion for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. Similar to the last promotion the Pikachus will be obtainable by using mystery gift and using codes. The first code that was revealed during the presentation was  P1KACHUGET, which can be used to obtain the “Original Cap” Pikachu. The Pokémon Company also revealed that the Pokémon GO to HOME connectivity will be available by the end of the year. By transferring a Pokémon from Pokémon Go, players will also receive a Gigantamax Melmetal. Lastly, the presentation featured a special music video by the band Bump of Chicken titled, “Gotcha.” 

The Crown Tundra expansion pass will be available on October 22 in North America and October 23 in Europe.
