Rampage – Official Trailer

Remember the cult-classic video game series, Rampage? Well if one does not remember here is a refresher! Rampage was a series of games where people were mutated into kaiju (giant monsters) hellbent on destroying cities. However, in future installments these mutant monsters would also double as the planet’s defenders. The games played out as single player, co-op multiplayer, or competitive multiplayer; it all depended on the party involved. Now, the series is coming back as a live-action film, which took six years to get into production!

Yesterday, the official trailer was released to the public. The film continues to feature the original iconic characters like George the King Kong-like gorilla, Ralph the wolf, and Lizzie; however Lizzie is now identified as a crocodile, not a lizard! In addition, the film does not feature humans mutating into monsters, but animals unfortunately coming intact to the mutagen. Other noticeable changes currently consist of the removal of Scumlabs or Scum Soda, but there could be a nod to it. The film is shown to focus on primatologist, Davis Okoye (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), who is bonded to George, as his primary handler/caregiver. Once George is infected with the mutagen Okoye will go to get lengths to obtain an antidote to save him. However, Okoye will have to face-off with the government, other mutations, and even George! Below is the entire trailer:

Now, aside from The Rock, notable cast members include Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Joe Manganiello, Malin Akerman, Naomie Harris, and Marley Shelton. Rampage is being produced by New Line Cinema, with Warner Bros. Pictures distributing the film. Rampage is set to release on April 20th, 2018 in 3D and IMAX.
