SDCC 2017 to Host Resident Evil & Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars Panels

San Diego Comic Con’s official website has recently revealed two new panels for the event. The first panel is for the Resident Evil: Vendetta animated film, based on the Resident Evil (Biohazard) game. The panel will feature executive producer Takashi Shimizu (Ju-on), director Takanori Tsujimoto (Ultraman X), and Capcom supervisor Hiroyuki Kobayashi. Hiroyuki Kobayashi’s work includes the previous Resident Evil cg-animated films, Damnation and Degeneration.

Now, Resident Evil: Vendetta received a limited “one night only” screening in theaters throughout North America this past June, and an additional screening at Anime Expo last weekend. The home video release for Resident Evil: Vendetta is slated for next Tuesday, July 18.

Then as for the second panel it will be for Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars. The film is a cg-animated movie that serves as a direct sequel to the original 1997 Starship Troopers live-action film. The movie will feature the returning, Casper Van Dien, and Dina Meyer who will reprise their roles as Johnny Rico, and Dizzy Flores. Another member of the cast is comedian DeRay Davis, who is a fan of Starship Troopers. In addition, the screenplay is written by Ed Neumeier, who was a screenwriter for the 1997 film. Hosting the panel will be director Shinji Aramaki, co-director Masaru Matsumoto, producer Joseph Chou, and actor Casper Van Dien. Furthermore, the film will be screened in the United States for one night only on August 21. One can check the trailer out below:
