Shaman King Reboot Trailer Streamed

Netflix recently posted a trailer for the Shaman King anime reboot. The latest trailer features a look at the setting of the series. The series is set to premiere in the service sometime this year.

Netflix provided a short description for the series.

The Shaman King is the one who can contact the king of spirits and reshape the world. Every 500 years, shamans, who can commune between the worlds of the living and dead, compete in the Shaman Fight to become the next Shaman King.

Among those aiming for the top is a young shaman named Yoh Asakura. See Yoh’s adventure unfold in the new adaptation of Hiroyuki Takei’s lauded manga, starting 2021 on Netflix.

For those who are not aware, the series is a new anime adaptation of Hiroyuki Takei’s manga series. The series was first announced earlier last year. The first anime was produced by studio Xebec and consisted of 64 episodes. The first series debuted in July 2001 and ran until September 2002. A dub was produced for the first series by 4Kids Entertainment and aired on the channel starting on May 15 and ended on August 30, 2003. For those who did not follow the original series, it initially followed the manga until its later episodes followed a new storyline.

 

The new series is being produced by studio Bridge and will air in Japan in April 2021. Jouji Furuta is directing the series with Toshihiko Sano working as the character designer. Shouji Yonemura has been hired to work on the series composition and Yuuki Hayashi will be working on the music composition.
