Recently, Warner Bros. released a first trailer for “The Suicide Squad.” For those who are not aware, the film is a standalone sequel to the 2016 Suicide Squad film. The trailer features a look at the team getting together as they are hired by Amanda Waller to fight off a giant threat known as Starro. The trailer also reveals that King Shark will be portrayed by Sylvester Stallone instead of Steve Agee.
For those who are not familiar with Starro, the character is apart of an alien species from Star Planet. The character made its’ debut in The Brave and the Bold #28, which was released in Feb 1960. The character was created by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky. Starro is known as one of the major villains of the Justice League of America. In the comics, the character had the ability to control and duplicate itself.
The Suicide Squad will premiere in theaters and HBO Max on August 6, 2021.
