IDW Publishing has announced that they will be publishing an ongoing comic series based on Beast Wars: Transformers in 2021. This series will be part of the 25th anniversary for the franchise. Transformers X “Back to the Future” Figure Revealed

Mashable recently revealed a first look at an upcoming Transformers and Back to the Future crossover figure named Gigawatt. For those who are not aware, this is not the first time Hasbro has done crossover figures as they previously made Marvel and Star Wars crossover figures in the past. Additionally, they also released a Transformer based on the Ecto-1 from the Ghostbusters franchise named Ectotron last year. Similar to Ectotron a comic limited series will be released by IDW based on this figure. Hasbropulse has updated their official blog with the behind the scenes look of a new upcoming Transformers comic four issue miniseries titled, “Transformers ’84: Secrets and Lies. IDW “Transformers” Comic Announced – Before the War on Cybertron

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that IDW Publishing will be publishing a new comic series based on the Transformers that takes place before the war. The comic series simply titled, “Transformers,” will series will be released twice a month. Brian Ruckley will be working as the writer on the project. Angel Hernzadez and Ron Joseph will be working on the illustrations. The Transformers will be debut in March, 2019. The first two issues will feature various covers that will be illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez, Freddie E. iO9 has reported that IDW Publishing will be publishing a comic miniseries that features both Star Trek characters and the Transformers. The new crossover miniseries titled, “Star Trek vs. Transformers,” will feature the bridge crew on the U.S.S. Within the mix of the NYCC 2017 news, IDW Publishing announced the the release details for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog comic series. For those who are unaware the original main Sonic the Hedgehog comics series that was published Archie Comics finished it’s run on July 19 this year.  The series ran from November 22, 1992 – July 19, 2017 so it did have a long run.
