Earlier today, Paramount Pictures released the Superbowl LVI big game spot trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The latest trailer features more scenes featuring Knuckles the Echidna (Idris Elba) and some more battle scenes involving Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey). Sonic the Hedgehog Live-Action Film Sequel in the Works

Variety has reported that a sequel for the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog film is currently in the works at Paramount Pictures. Jeff Fowler will return to the direct the sequel with Pat Casey and Josh Miller returning to write the script. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, and Toru Nakahara will also return as producers for the film. Hajime Satomi, Haruki Satomi, and Tim Miller will be working as executive producers. Following the fan backlash towards the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film due to its animation of the titular character, Paramount Pictures expressed to fans they would be overhauling the design. Paramount’s intent was to drastically change Sonic to look more video game accurate by the time of its November release date. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Paramount Pictures has recently announced that the Sonic the Hedgehog film’s premiere date has been moved up one week. The film originally was set to premiere on November 15, 2019, however the film will now premiere in theaters on November 8, 2019. For those who are not aware, the film is a live-action/ CGI film adaption of the Sonic the Hedgehog game franchise.
