Earlier today, Paramount Pictures released a new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. For those unaware, the film is produced by Seth Rogen’s Point Grey Productions alongside Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. Additionally, the film will be a joint venture between Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies. Whereas, Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. the Machines) is set to direct the film.
The latest trailer features a deeper look at the film including a closer look at the villain cast for the film and the first in film look of Splinter. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is scheduled to premiere in theaters on August 2, 2023.
Paramount Pictures provided a description for the film.
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.
Starring Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), Sharon Brown Jr. (Mikey), Micah Abbey (Donnie), Brady Noon (Raph), Jackie Chan (Splinter), Ayo Edebiri (April), Ice Cube (Superfly), Seth Rogen (Bebop), John Cena (Rocksteady), Paul Rudd (Mondo Gecko), Rose Byrne (Leatherhead), Post Malone (Ray Fillet), Hannibal Buress (Genghis Frog), Natasia Demetriou (Wing Nut), Maya Rudolph (Cynthia Utrom), and Giancarlo Esposito (Baxter Stockman)!
The latest trailer really has increased my interest for the film as it seems to be taking the turtles into a slightly different setting. While it is not confirmed it seems that the film will heavily focus more on the mutant vs mutant side instead of it being usually sidelined by the Foot. In conclusion, the film looks like it is going to be quite the fun time and I am glad to see that the film’s release date has been pushed up by a couple of days.
