Coming at you with some casting news, Doom Patrol has found their “The Chief”. Actor Timothy Dalton has been confirmed to play this character in the upcoming Doom Patrol series that will be on the DC Universe app which is set to launch September 15, 2018 on Batman day. Here’s some background information on Dr. Niles Caulder aka “The Chief”.
According to the Chief’s Doom Patrol character description, Dr. Caulder is a pioneer in medical science, searching the world over for those on the edge of death in need of a miracle. Brilliant, but controversial, Dr. Caulder will stop at nothing to help those he believes are in need, including his collection of strange heroes known as The Doom Patrol.
Doom Patrol is already shaping up to be as fascinating as its source material, even prior to production. Dalton is the latest in a string of high profile casting announcements that have piqued plenty of fan curiosity. Last week, Deadline announced that Alan Tudyk had been cast as Mr. Nobody, which followed the news that Brendan Fraser would be voicing Robotman as well as playing Cliff Steele, his pre-robot, human identity. Also recently cast were Joivan Wade as Cyborg, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman and Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane.
I have to say that I’m excited to watch this series when it drops. Which means I’ll have to sign up for the DC Universe streaming service. Given the content that will be on the service, I’m willing to give it a go. As always let us know what you think and I’ll see you later.
