EA has updated their official channel with a new trailer for Star Wars Squadrons that was first shown during the Gamecon 2020 stream. The latest trailer features a deeper look at the Single Player mode for the game. The game will focus on two customizable pilots on the side of the New Republic and the remnants of the Galactic Empire. On the side of the Galactic Empire, the story will feature Admiral Rae Sloane who will be helping Terisa Kerill with a mission to destroy Project Starhawk. Star Wars Squadrons will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows on October 2, 2020. Those who are interested in learning more about the game can check out official website.
Personally I dont have much experience in flight focused games outside of the few flight simulators I have played on PC many years ago. That being said I do like the presentation of this game just by looking at the trailers released so far including this one. The overall narrative seems a bit weak, however it does look like the gameplay will make up for it. In terms of Star Wars games I do prefer a more action oriented adventure game, although I do respect that there are also a decent amount of flight combat oriented games as well. That being said I will wait and see reviews for this game before I decide to try it out myself.
