Sony Pictures has announced that Hirona Yamazaki will be be joining the cast of the live-action film adaptation of the Monster Hunter game franchise. Yamazaki is set to portray as the “Handler,” who will be helping Artemis and the Hunter on their journey. For those who are not aware the “Handlers” featured in the various Monster Hunter games help hunters chose their missions.
The confirmed cast members so far include:

- Tony Jaa: Hunter
- Hirona Yamazaki: Handler
- Ron Perlman: Admiral
- T.I. Harris: Link
- Diego Boneta: Sergeant Marshall
- Meagon Good: TBA
- Josh Helman: TBA
Last month Sony Pictures also revealed an official behind the scenes look of Mila Jovovich and Tony Jaa in their costumes.

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.
Sony’s Screen Gems will distribute the film within the United States while TOHO will release the film in Japan. Constantin Film will distribute the film in German-speaking territories and Tencent Pictures will release the film in China. Sony Pictures Releasing will handle the film distribution throughout the rest of the world.
