Official Images: S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Taro

Tamashii Nations has recently updated their website with the information regarding the upcoming S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Taro release. This Figuart being based on the titular hero of the sixth installment in the Ultra series. Ultraman Taro the series spans 53 episodes which originally aired from April 6, 1973 to April 5, 1974 on TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System). Ultraman Taro is referred to as ‘Ultraman No. 6,’ with his name being derived from the most typical name of a boy used in otogi-banashis (Japanese fairy tales). In universe, the character is the son of Father of Ultra (Ultraman Ken) and Mother of Ultra (Ultrawoman Marie), the current rulers of the Land of Light. Also, Ultraman Taro and his human host, Kotaro Hisgashi (portrayed by Saburo Shinoda), have parted ways since the conclusion of the series. Whereas, currently Ultraman Taro returns only in his Ultra or Spark Doll form being voiced by Hiroya Ishimaru.

 

Now, S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Taro is highly based on the original suit seen within the series, as it features a faded color scheme compared to the brighter modern suit. The figure’s accessories will include optional wrist pieces featuring his Ultra Bracelets, the Taro Bracelet and the King Bracelet, as well as his weapon the Bracelet Lancer. Additional parts will include five optional right hands, two optional left hands, and the timed-out Color Timer. Also, the figure will come with a Tamashii Effect piece to recreate Ultraman Taro’s signature attack, the Storium Ray. However, if fans have the Tamashii Effect Burning Flame they can also reproduce Ultraman Taro’s Ultra Dynamite too. Below is the official gallery from Tamashii Nations:

S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Taro is a November 2019 retail release, which is priced at 6050 yen. Online retailers will be permitted to open pre-orders for this item and other November Tamashii Nations releases on July 1st. The release of this figure is an imminent foreshadowing for what is to come, which is the future release for S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Taiga. For those unaware, Ultraman Taiga is the next installment in the Ultra Series that schedule to premiere on July 6th in Japan. The character also happens to be the son of Ultraman Taro, which adds to new chapter to lore especially as this is the first series in the Reiwa Era. Nevertheless, fans should look to both S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Taro, and the upcoming series, Ultraman Taiga.
