Spider-Man to Remain in the MCU

Various news outlets have reported that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will remain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For those who are not aware, it was reported that Disney and Sony were not able to make a deal to keep Marvel Studios’ involvement on the character in future films. However, today a deal was made to allow the character to stay within the MCU. According to the reports Sony and Disney have made a deal that Disney/Marvel will co-finance “25%” of the third Spider-Man film with a “25% equity stake.” Under this deal it is also reported that the character will also appear in one other film. The third film is still in development and is set to premiere on July 16, 2021. Amy Pascal will continue to produce the third film via Pascal Pictures.

I am quite pleased to see that a new deal was made to allow Tom Holland to continue playing Peter Parker/ Spider-Man within the MCU. The cliffhanger post credits scene from Spider-Man: Far From Home was amazing and it was going to be a shame that at one point it was going to be left off with no resolution.
