Nintendo recently updated their official Youtube channel with a new gameplay video for Splatoon 3. For those who are not aware, Splatoon 3 was during the September 2021 Nintendo Direct. The latest gameplay video features a look at a full match showcasing several of the new sub weapons and mechanics. Additionally, the video revealed the release date for the game. Splatoon 3 will be released for the Nintendo Switch on September 9, 2022.
I really did enjoy the first two Splatoon titles and they were a blast to play. The third title looks pretty wild and some of the new mechanics look like they will be a lot of fun. That being said I find it a bit strange that both Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Splatoon 3’s release dates were announced in separate videos rather than being attached to another Nintendo Direct so it does make me wonder what will be showcased in the next one. Hopefully around the time E3 was supposed to take place we will see more interesting new titles.
