Star Wars: The High Republic Announcement Trailer

Happy Tuesday heroes, as today we have some new Star Wars news. The new released last night in a video titled “Star Wars: The High Republic,” and I have to say I did not see this type of turn coming. Now, I thought that after the Skywalker saga we would go forward but it feels as though we are going backwards. Not to say that this is a bad thing or anything like that, but I just find this move interesting on Star Wars’ behalf. Yet, I have to say seeing Claudia Gray, Charles Soule, Cavan Scott, and Justina Ireland working together on this project has my interest peaked.

In terms of what we know so far, the project is a few books and comic books that are going to be released in August 2020. Also, the releases would coincide with this year’s Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. Now, the following books confirmed are as followed.

  • Star Wars: The High Republic: Into the Dark by Claudia Gray (Young Adult Novel)
  • Star Wars: The High Republic: A Test of Courage by Justina Ireland (Middle Grade Novel)
  • Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures by Daniel José Older (Comic Book series)
  • Star Wars: The High Republic by Cavan Scott (Comic book series)
  • Star Wars: The High Republic: Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule (Adult Novel)

Overall, it seems like there is something Star Wars related for everyone going forward no matter the age group. I am hoping this gamble back into the Republic Era will work for Disney and Lucas Films in the long-term of things. Especially given that there does not seem to be any movies planned for the foreseeable future. Star Wars shifting to books does not seem like a bad move at all, but only time will tell if it pans out. As always, readers let us know what you think down in the comments below and I will talk to you later!
