Mobile Suit Gundam 40th Anniversary PV & Build Divers Re:Rise Announced

Sunrise has released a new promotional video for the Mobile Suit Gundam 40th Anniversary. The video features previews of upcoming projects as well as a retrospective of past Gundam series going all the way back to the beginning. While we already knew of the current Gundam 40th projects, we recently learned a few new details from the video.

First, viewers get to see familiar footage from the Gundam Live-Action Movie Announcement and Gundam Factory Yokohama. Next there is artwork from the Gundam x Ken Okuyama collaboration; the collaboration features Industrial Designer Ken Okuyama redesigning classic Mobile Suits from the franchise. Following that is footage from the Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt mobile game, and the Hathaway’s Flash film. Both segments used footage from their respective teaser trailers.

The biggest news to come from this trailer is in the reveal of the new Build Series anime. Titled Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise, the anime is presumably a sequel to 2018’s Gundam Build Divers anime. Viewers get a glimpse of a new character and Gundam for the series. Sunrise has also launched a teaser site for the series. Now, the upcoming projects section ends with the Gundam Reconguista in G compilation film, which is premiering this month, yet does not appear to have a distinctive title for the film. Next up, is footage from SD Gundam World Sangoku Soketsuden which is set to debut in July 2019. Lastly, the TV Version of Gundam The Origin, Advent of the Red Comet is showcased, which began airing in Japan in April 2019 and begins in North America this weekend on Toonami.

The rest of the video contains a compilation of Gundam movies and series specifically featuring their final battles. It begins with Gundam NT and runs backwards in time to the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. Also, it should be noted that not every series and movie is included in this compilation. Furthermore, the video is available for viewing worldwide on GundamInfo.
