Vertical Licenses Gundam Wing: The Glory of Loser & Helvetica Standard

goltankobon_volume01_coverYesterday, Vertical a North American publisher licensed Gundam Wing: The Glory of Losers and Helvetica Standard manga. Gundam Wing: The Glory of Losers series began in Kadokawa’s Gundam Ace magazine in 2010, adapting the 1995 anime series. The series incorporates elements from Endless Waltz, Episode Zero, and Frozen Teardrop. This incorporation is to retell the original series with the back-stories, and side-stories introduced from the various spin-offs. The series is illustrated by Tomofumi Ogasawara, and written by Katsuyuki Sumisawa who worked on Wing. Sumisawa also has worked on a variety of other series like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Inuyasha, Naruto, and Zoids. The manga is on-going and has reached its 12th volume.

Helvetica Standard is Keiichi Arawi’s four-panel colored manga featured in Kadokawa’s Newtype magazine. The series received a compiled volume in 2011, and received a sequel entitled, Helvetica Standard Zoku, in 2014. It would also be animated as segments within, Arawi’s Nichijou anime adaptation, due to some characters crossing over. Nichijou is also another title Vertical currently distributes in North America.

Nozomi Entertainment Announces MSG 0079 Movie Trilogy & MSG 0083 Collection Releases

Nozomi Entertainment has announced on their official twitter page that they will be releasing both the MSG 0079 Movie Trilogy, and the MSG 0083 Collection on Blu-ray on April 4.

The company also provided a synopsis for both releases.

The Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy contains all three Mobile Suit Gundam movies!

Universal Century 0079. Amuro Ray finds himself caught up in the war between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon. He unwillingly becomes the pilot of a prototype Mobile Suit called the Gundam. Now he and the crew of the White Base will have to fight for their very lives as the enemy attempts to destroy this new weapon at all costs.

Combatants will face triumph and turmoil as they battle their way through space to get to their final destination on Earth. The outcome of the war lies in the hands of the Newtype in the anime series that started it all!

Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 contains episodes 1-13 of Stardust Memory plus the Afterglow of Zeon compilation film.

Universal Century 0083. Having triumphed in the One-Year War, the Earth Federation has grown complacent, while the last remnants of Zeon forces have been planning one final stand. It all hinges on ace Zeon pilot Anavel Gato stealing one of the new prototype Gundams out from under the Federation’s nose. With a nuclear-equipped Gundam missing and their pride wounded, the Federation ship Albion and rookie pilot Kou Uraki set out in pursuit of the Zeon thieves and the stolen Gundam GP02A.
