Monster Hunter Direct Streamed

Nintendo recently streamed an unannounced Nintendo Direct that streamed alongside the recently released Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase. The direct featured a deeper look at Monster Hunter Rise and a short look at Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

In Monster Hunter: Rise players will be able to use the Wirebug to help transverse areas they would normally not be able to go on to by foot. Additionally, players will be able to use them in various combos against monsters. The Monster Hunter game team also took at one of the new areas called the Shrine Ruins. Next, the team revealed that the game will feature a new buddy known as the Palamute. While riding the Palamute players will not loose any stamina so they will be able to run at their own leisure. Players will also be able to use items while riding Palamutes. They will also be able to help players fight monsters. The standard Feylne palicos will also be returning. The Palamutes will mainly focus on attacks while Felynes will focus on support. Players will also be able to bring along both palico types and will be able to mix and match them as well.

Continuing on, the team took at look at some of the new monsters. The monsters featured in the direct includes the new flagship monster, the Magnamalo, the Aknosom, the Great Izuchi, and the Tetranadon. The team then took a look at the new base, which is called Kamura Village. This location will be the main hub for the hunters. Monster Hunter Rise will be released in three versions. The versions include a standard edition, a Deluxe Edition, and a Collector’s Edition. Additionally, those who pre-order the game will also receive a Palamute Retriever Costume layered armor, Palico Forest Cat Costume layered armor and a Novice Talisman for some extra assistance in the early stages. The Monster Hunter team also confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise will have some kind of functionality with Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. Monster Hunter Rise will be released on March 26, 2021.

The Monster Hunter team also revealed that three new Amiibo will be released alongside the game. They will be able to interact with the game, although they didn’t specify exactly what they do in game.

The Amiibos include:

  • Palamute
  • Magnamalo
  • Palico

In Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin players will be fighting alongside their monsters like in the first game. Players will be tasked to discover the mystery behind the disappearance of the Rathlos. Not much else was revealed about this game at this time. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be released in Summer 2021.
