Saint Seiya: Saintia Shō Anime Cast & More Revealed

The official Saint Seiya: Santia Shō website has updated with some new details about the upcoming anime series. For those who are not aware, the series is based on the current running manga series of the same name. The series will be produced by Toei Animation.

First, some of the cast members for the series were revealed. The revealed cast includes:

  • Aina Suzuki: Shōko
  • M.A.O: Kyōko
  • Inori Minase: Saori
  • Megumi Nakajima: Mii

Next, an official visual for the series was revealed, which features several of the characters that will appear in the series.

Seven Seas Entertainment, who licensed the manga, provided an official description.

In the wake of a space-wide civil war instigated by Saga–the Gemini Gold Saint–a new team of Saints comes together with the goal of protecting their goddess Athena. This first all-woman team of armored warriors, powered by the Zodiac, will use their cunning, strength, and compassion to defend their worlds and oppose their very destinies.

The manga is set immediately after the main storyline’s Sanctuary arc after the defeat of Gemini Saga from Masami Kurumada’s original Saint Seiya manga, but before the Poseidon arc. However, whereas the original manga followed a boy named Seiya and other Saints who fight to protect the goddess Athena, the new series follows a female “Saintia” named Shō who fights evil deities to protect Athena.

The series will premiere on the Animax on PlayStation app this December.
