Shout! Factory Announces Kamen Rider Kuuga & Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman on Home Video

Earlier today, the Shout! Factory booth accidentally revealed that the company will be releasing two new tokusatsu home video releases. However, they quickly fixed their mistake, even though it was too late, to officially make the announcement at their panel. Now, Shout! Factory’s first announcement was that they will be physically releasing Kamen Rider Kuuga on Blu-Ray. For those unaware, the company previously made the series available for streaming through their site, Pluto TV, and Tubi in 2020. Surprisingly, Shout! Factory exclaimed that they underestimated the demand for physical media, but Kamen Rider Zero-One’s sales proved them wrong. Then as for Kamen Rider Kuuga on Blu-Ray, this set will encompass the complete 49-episode series and release on September 20th. Also, Shout! Factory has confirmed that there will be subtitle options in regards to the Grongi language. The series is currently available for pre-order at Shout! Factory’s online store for $51.98 with a list price of $59.98.

Moving onto Shout! Factoy’s second announcement, they confirmed that Super Sentai DVD releases are finally returning! Now, the company is picking up where they left off, and that is with the 48-episode series, Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman. For those unaware, Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman is the 14th installment in Toei’s long-running Super Sentai series. So, since it came before Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, the series was never officially adapted into Power Rangers. Like Kamen Rider Kuuga on Blu-Ray, the series is available for pre-order at Shout! Factory’s online store. Currently, the company has the set priced for $47.98 with its list price being $59.98. Below is the official trailer from Shout! Factory, and their synopsis for the series.

Unfortunately, Shout! Factory has confirmed via their TokuShoutsu account that Fiveman will not be available for streaming through their associated platforms. Yet, Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman will be releasing earlier than Kamen Rider Kuuga, as its street date is September 6th. Nevertheless, Shout! Factory says more home video releases are on the way, so please stay tuned.
