Temuera Morrison Cast as Boba Fett in Second Season of The Mandalorian

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Temuera Morrison will be returning to the Star Wars universe as the famous bounty hunter Boba Fett in the second season of The Mandalorian. The role is quite fitting as the actor previously portrayed the in universe father of the character, Jango Fett, in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. In that film, Boba Fett was portrayed by Daniel Logan.  The more surprising part of the reveal is that it will be interesting to see how the character survived his supposed death in the Sarlacc Pit as seen in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

For those who are unaware, Boba Fett made his full debut in the Star Wars Holiday Special and later made his live-action debut in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. In the original films the character was portrayed by Jeremy Bulloch. Additionally, Boba Fett also had a large presence throughout the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the character made an off camera cameo appearance at the end of the episode titled, “The Gunslinger,” where he dragged the lifeless body of Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen).

The second season of The Mandalorian is slated to premiere on Disney+ this October.
