Transformers: Titan Returns Animated Series Cast Members Announced

Variety has reported some new casting details about the upcoming Transformers: Titan Returns animated series. Peter Cullen will be reprising his role as Optimus Prime and he will be joined by Wil Wheaton, Judd Nelson, Michael Dorn, and Jason David Frank.  Jon Bailey originally voiced Optimus Prime in Transformers: Combiner Wars so it will be interesting to see Peter Cullen return as the character alongside Judd Nelson.   The project will be overseen by F.J. DeSanto, who worked on Transformers: Combiner Wars.

The series is next installment in the Transformers “Prime Wars” trilogy and will premiere on the GO90 network this November. The series will be available on the service worldwide, except in China where it will be streamed on Sohu.com.  Similar to Transformers: Combiner Wars, each episode will last roughly 11 minutes long and will be composed on 10 episodes.

The full casting will go as followed:
  • Peter Cullen: Optimus Prime
  • Judd Nelson: Rodimus Prime/ Hot Rod
  • Wil Weaton: Perceptor
  • Michael Dorn: Fortress Maximus
  • Nolan North: Metroplex
  • Jason David Frank: Emissary
  • Abby Trott: Windblade
  • Jason Marnocha: Megatron

In addition to the announced cast it has been revealed that several Youtube celebrities are also joining the cast. The included celebrities include;  MatPat (Game Theorist, Film Theorist, GT Live and MatPat’s Game Lab),   Rob Dyke (Seriously Strange),  and Tay Zonday (Chocolate Rain).
Variety also provided a short synopsis for the series.

“Titans Return” picks up where the destruction of “Combiner Wars” left off. In the series, the gigantic Transformers called Titans are awakened and cause massive problems. Trypticon, a gigantic lizard-like Transformer, rises to wreak havoc on Cybertron, while Windblade and a ragtag team of Transformers must resurrect an ancient ally. The conflict will transform beloved heroes forever — while some Transformers will be blown to oblivion.
