Cosplay Cafe 35: Heather Rage

What’s going on heroes? Happy Friday and I apologize for the delay, been a bit busy on my end but regardless of that were here. This week Heather Rage comes to the cafe, so sit back and enjoy!

1. What were you like growing up? What were some of the things you were into a child/teenager?

Growing up I was always playing pretend. Even in my middle school and early high school days I would roleplay with my other geeky girl friends. I would use cool geode rocks, random sticks, leaves, and whatnot as my magical artifacts. Not many people use their imaginations as they get older but watching a variety of fiction movies and reading them threw me into a whole different world of which I wanted to be apart of. Even to this day I enjoy creating fictional characters whether with cosplays, in video games or art. Why be an ordinary human when you can be an amazing elf with powers?!

2. Who or what got you into cosplaying?

My childhood I loved dressing up or playing pretend but when I was introduced to the convention world it was eye opening! My sister took me to an anime con but it wasn’t until my first comic con a couple months later that I saw the extent cosplayers went into bringing a character to life! And just like that, I was hooked!

3. What got you to cosplaying so many Spider characters?

Spider-Man and Batman were my favorite characters when I was younger and so I started cosplaying with superheroes and got curious as to what female spidey characters there were. That’s when I saw Spider-Gwen, I read her comics and once I finished the several I had I kept doing research on more female spidey characters, then saw mashups of Gwen and Venom, Deadpool and Spider-Man, then versions of each character.

4. Do you have a favorite cosplay you’ve made?

Its hard to have a favorite cosplay when they’re all characters I love. My first cosplay I made was a death knight and I LOVED how it turned out, then I started tweaking how my other armor builds came out after and they’ve progressed since!

5. What is one thing cosplay has taught you about yourself?

Cosplay has shown me how to feel more confident in my skill and it has helped me overcome some of my shyness

6. Off topic question, favorite food?

Ooooooo tough one, I’m a food person but it has to be Asian food first, but burgers and chicken Parmesan are way up there too

7.What is one thing you love about cosplaying?

The ability to become a character I enjoy whether it be from books, videos games, movies, etc.

8. Second off topic question, what is one thing you’re looking forward too?

Getting my adult life together haha! Just so I can relax a bit more and get back to crafting

9. Can you hint at any cosplays you’re currently making?

I have several on hold I plan to complete. One is a mashup of 2 Blizzard games, and the other 2 are from their other games too.

10. What conventions can people find you at later this year or next year?

For sure keep checking my IG for that info because with adulting it has become tough to make it to events 💔 but definitely look for me whether in/out of cosplay because I enjoy seeing my fellow followers at cons!
