Earlier today, the official Sonic the Hedgehog Youtube channel updated with the release date trailer for Sonic Origins. For those who are unware, Sonic Origins is a remaster collection of several of the older 2D sonic titles. The game will also feature brand new features including a leaderboards. Additionally, the game will feature brand new animations animated by Powerhouse Animation Studios (Castlevania, Masters of the Universe: Revelations) as well as other unlockables and collectibles. The game will also allow players to play as Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles in the various games.
The games include:
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic CD
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles
The modes include:
- Classic Mode – Play the original versions with original aspect ratio
- Mirror Mode – Zones will be flipped left to right
- Anniversary Mode – Full screen display and offering players infinite lives (No Game-Overs)
- Boss Rush Mode – Beat bosses in succession
The game will feature a standard edition as well as the Digital Deluxe Edition. The several packs featured below will also be available separately for purchase, but will also be included in the Digital Deluxe Edition.

- Start Dash Pack – Mirror Mode Unlocked, Letterbox Background
- Premium Fun Pack – Character Animation in Main Menu, Camera Controls Over the Main Menu Islands, Character

Sonic Origins will be released for the PlayStation 4, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on June 23rd.
