Kraken Licenses Garo: Red Requiem Live-Action Film Release

Section23 Films has announced that Kraken Releasing will be releasing the Garo: Red Requiem (Kiba ~Ankoku Kishi Gaiden~) film on Blu-Ray on April 10, 2018.  For those who haven’t been following the Garo franchise, Garo: Red Requiem premiered in Japan on October 30, 2010.  The film featured the return of Ryosei Konishi who once again portrays Kouga Saejima/GARO.  The film also introduced some new characters such as Mary Matsuyama as Rekka, and Mika Hijii as the voice of Karma. Mika Hijii portrayed Kaoru in the original series, however she played a new role for the film.   Kraken Releasing provided a synopsis for the film. Garo: Crimson Moon Anime Film Announced

The official Garo website has announced that a film for the Garo: Crimson Moon anime series. Currently no other details are confirmed at this time due to the project being early in development.  For those who are unaware, Garo: Crimson Moon is the second anime series based on the Garo Tokusatsu franchise.  The series premiered in 2015 and was licensed by Funimation Entertainment in North America for both home video and for streaming. Premium Bandai has updated their website with an official pre-order page for S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchu Seihou Golden Knight Garo (Saejima Kouga). For those who are unaware the figure is based on the first incarnation of Garo in the original 2005 Tokusatsu series. Section23 Films has recently announced that they have licensed the Garo: Kiba -The Dark Knight! (Kiba ~ Ankoku Kishi Gaiden ~) v-cinema, which is set to release on Blu-ray on February 20.    Kraken Releasing provided a synopsis for the special. NYCC 2017: Funimation to Simuldub Garo: Vanishing Line

Funimation Entertainment has announced at New York Comic Con 2017 that they will be simuldubbing the Garo: Vanishing Line anime series as a part of their Fall 2017 lineup.   The series will be premiering in Japan this Friday, so it is nice to see that the company has announced simuldub plans this fast. The official Garo Project Youtube channel has updated with a teaser trailer for Garo: Divine Fang (GARO: Kami no Kiba). The film is the latest project for the Garo franchise that will be released in Japanese theaters on January 6, 2018. Recently Section23 Films released a press release that features their releases throughout the month of October. One of the highlights is that the first Blu-ray volume for the Garo live-action series will be releasing during that period. Garo Collection 1, as it is titled will be sold at the MSRP of $39.98.
