Deborah Chow to Direct Disney+ “Obi-Wan Kenobi” Series

The official Star Wars website has updated with an announcement that Deborah Chow will be directing the upcoming Disney+ exclusive series based on Obi Wan Kenobi. Hossein Amini will be working as the writer on the project. Chow will serve double duty as an executive producer with the help of Amini, Ewan McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy, Tracey Seaward, and John Swartz. Lucasfilm’s Executive Vice President of Production, Jason McGatlin, will work as the co-producer. D23 2019: Disney+ Star Wars Series Details Revealed

The official Star Wars website has updated with details about the upcoming productions that will be released on Disney+. Outside of the previously revealed trailer for The Mandalorian Lucasfilm revealed several new details about some of what there is to expect for the platform. First, Lucasfilm revealed that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be making its’ return in February 2020 on Disney+. Several news outlets have reported that Ewan McGregor is in talks to star in an upcoming Disney+ exclusive live-action series based on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ewan McGregor in Talks to Play Black Mask in DC’s “Birds of Prey”

Variety has reported that Ewan McGregor is in talks to portray Black Mask in the upcoming DC Extended Universe film, “Birds of Prey.”    For those are not aware, the film will focus on the Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Windstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) as they team-up to fight against Black Mask. Star Wars’ Obi-Wan Kenobi Film in Development

The Hollywood Reporter has recently reported that Stephen Daldry is in early talks to direct a standalone Star Wars film featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi.  Since the talks are in a very early stage of development no other details about the project are known at this time.
