Jurnee Smollett-Bell & Mary Elizabeth Winstead Joins Birds of Prey Cast

Variety has reported that Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Mary Elizabeth Windstead will be joining the cast of Birds of Prey. For those who are not aware, the film is a live-action adaptation of the Birds of Prey comic series and will be produced by Margot Robbie. Margot Robbie portrayed Harley Quinn in the 2016 Suicide Squad film and will reprise her role in Birds of Prey. Smollett-Bell will be playing Black Canary, while Windstead will be portraying Huntress. First Look at Live-Action Aquaman’s Black Manta

Entertainment Weekly has revealed a first look at Black Manta in the upcoming live-action Aquaman film. While a full look of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in costume has not been shown, the photo reveals David Kane aka Black Manta working on his armor. For those who have not been following, the film’s main antagonist will be King Orm aka Ocean Master, who will be portrayed by Patrick Wilson. The film also stars Amber Heard who will return to portray her role as Princess Mera, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, and Dolph Lundgren who is portraying King Nereus.  James Wan, director of the Aquaman film had this to say about Black Manta. “He’s…

Cathy Yan to Direct Harley Quinn Spinoff Film

Several new outlets have reported that Cathy Yan is set to direct the next DC spinoff film, which will focus on Harley Quinn.  The film will be based on the Birds of the Prey comic series and Margot Robbie will return to reprise the titular role.
