Derek Mears to Portray DC Universe’s Swamp Thing

Several news outlets are reporting that Derek Mears is going to be portraying Swamp Thing in suit for the upcoming live-action series. For those who are not aware, Mears is most famous for starring as Jason Voorhees in the 2009 reboot of Friday the 13th. He has also portrayed the “classic” Predator in the 2010 Predators film and has previously worked in other live-action comic adaptions in the past. Deadline has reported that Len Wiseman will be working double shifts as the executive producer and director for the first episode of the live-action Swamp Thing series.  For those who have not been keeping up to date, the series is going to be a part of the live-action series line-up on the upcoming DC Universe streaming service. Alan Tudyk Cast As Mr. Nobody in Doom Patrol

Deadline has reported that Alan Tudyk has joined the cast of the upcoming Doom Patrol live-action series. He will be playing Eric Mordern aka Mr. Nobody.  For those who are not familiar with the character, Eric Mordern was first introduced in Doom Patrol#86 and was transformed into Mr. Nobody in Doom Patrol, Vol. 2, #26. Doom Patrol TV Series Announced For DC Universe Streaming Service

DC Entertainment has recently announced that a new Doom Patrol TV series will be joining the lineup for their DC Universe streaming service. The series will be produced by Berlanti Productions with the help of Warner Bros. Television. The first season of the series is currently set to 13 episodes and is said to start production later this year with the series releasing on the service in 2019.  Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, Jeremy Carver, and Sarah Schechter will serve as executive producers on the project.
