Destin Daniel Cretton to Direct Marvel’s ‘Shang-Chi’

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Destin Daniel Cretton is set to direct Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi. Cretton is best known for his 2013 film, Short Term 12, and 2017’s The Glass Castle.  For those who are not aware, the character is a Martial Artist of an Asian-American descent. He was created by Steve Engleheart and Jim Starlin. The character made his debut in Special Marvel Edition #15, which was released in December, 1973. Over the weekend, the official Sword Art Online twitter page updated with a new trailer for Sword Art Online: Alicization. The promo features a preview of the new theme song titled, “Resister,” which is performed by ASCA. The new theme song will debut on the show starting on January 12, 2019. Variety has reported that Robert Schwentke is in early talks to direct a G.I.Joe spin-off film based on the character Snake Eyes at Paramount. For those who are not aware Snake Eyes is one of the main characters featured within the G.I.Joe franchise. Andy Muschietti to Direct Hollywood Attack on Titan Live-Action Film Adaptation

Various news outlets have reported that Andy Mushietti will be directing the live-action film adaptation of the Attack on Titan franchise. David Heyman will be working as the producer for the film alongside Masi Oka and Babara Mushietti. Andy will be directing the film at Warner Bros., who has recently finalized the deal with Kodansha, the publisher for the manga series.
