Aniplex of America has recently announced the premiere date for the US theatrical release of Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale. The film will premiere in theaters as a special one day event on March 9, 2017 distributed by Eleven Arts.   The screenings for the film will be presented with it’s original Japanese audio and will feature English Subtitles. More information about theater locations and times will be revealed on a later date. The film will first be presented at a special premiere event on Marc 1 in Hollywood, California. Yesterday, the official website for Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale began streaming the second teaser introducing new characters. The original video was region-locked to Japan until Aniplex of America began streaming the trailer too. The New Characters & Descriptions: Yuna, “an idol in the AR world of Ordinal Scale. Bandai Namco Entertainment launched the website for Accel World vs Sword Art Online: Millennium Twilight based on both of Reki Kawahara’s light novel series. Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization Promo Videos Streamed – Gameplay and Cinematics

Sword Art Online Live-Action Series Announced

It was recently announced by Skydance, an American independent production company, that they have acquired the global rights to produce a live-action series based on the popular Sword Art Online (SAO) franchise. The confirmed production team consists of Laeta Kalogridis who will serve as the script writer and executive producer.   She will be helped by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross.  Skydance Interactive is also producing the Sword Art Online VR experience. First 7-Minutes of Accel World: Infinite Burst

Yesterday, Niconico and AbemaTV began streaming the first 7-minutes of Accel World: Infinite Burst film, on the film’s YouTube Channel and will be available until July 29. For attendees that where at Anime Expo earlier this month, they were the first to see the footage as it made its debut there.
