Kodansha has recently confirmed that they will be publishing the Mazinger Z spin-off one-shot manga, Mazinger Z Alter Ignition. The single volume will be released on December 20. Mazinger Z Alter Ignition was written by Yu Kinutani and was originally launched on the Dynamic Planning’s official website on May 19. A separate manga series titled, “Mazinger Z Interval Peace,” by Takahiro Ozawa, also launched in the Monthly Young Magazine on the same day. The manga showcases an alternate take on the events featured in the original Mazinger Z manga series.
The original manga series focuses on a high school boy named Koji Kabuto and his powerful robot called the Mazinger Z. He faces off the evil Dr. Hell who is looking towards world domination.
