Deadline has reported that a TV series based on G.I. Joe’s Lady Jaye is in production for Amazon. The series will be a live-action production and will be produced by Paramount Television Studios, eOne, and Skydance Television. For those who are not aware, Lady Jaye is one of the core key members of G.I. Joe. The character was originally produced as a member of the team seen in the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero animated series produced by Marvel Productions and Sunbow Productions. She also made an appearance in the G.I. Joe comic book series and also was released in the toyline. The character also made an appearance in the live-action G.I. Joe Retaliation film in 2013 and was portrayed by Adrianne Palicki.
Erik Oleson has been hired to write the project and will also serve as the showrunner. While the series is being produced as a standalone series, according to Deadline the series may serve as a backdoor to a larger G.I. Joe universe. Oleson will also work as the executive producer alongside Lorenzo Di Bonaventura. No other details are confirmed at this time, so stay tuned for updates.
