Recently some new information regarding Gundam the Origin VI has surfaced online.
For some time it was highly speculated that Gundam the Origin would continue the story into the events based in the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series. This was confirmed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, creator of the Gundam: The Origin manga, since he stated that he wanted the series to continue into the events of the One-Year War. However, it has been revealed that Gundam the Origin VI: Rise of the Red Comet (Tanjō Akai Suisei), will be the finale to the OVA series.
Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin VI: Rise of the Red Comet (Tanjō Akai Suisei will premiere in Japanese theaters on May 6.
Personally I am a bit disappointed in this news since it would have been cool to see a redo of the original anime series. Hopefully a new project will be in the works that will cover the original series, but for now it was great to see an amazing OVA series based on the events before the one-year war.
